UN International Friendship Day Music Event
The International Friendship Day was proposed in the 1950s by the Paraguayan Dr. Ramon Artemio Bracho, founder of the World Friendship Crusade, an international NGO promoting the 'Culture of Peace' through friendship.
The General Assembly of the United Nations declared each 30th of July officially as the International Friendship Day -- also called World Friendship Day -- on 27 April 2011, mainly due to many years of engaged lobbying by the World Friendship Crusade!
The International Friendship Day is commemorated on several different days of the year, depending on the country. Best-known is the 1st Sunday of August: In contrast to the UN event's main themes of peace & social harmony, the focus is on making new friends and on re-establishing prior friendships. This Friendship Day dates back to 1919, established by a well-known global greeting-card company and is celebrated in some of the world's most populous countries, like the United States of America and India!
According to the United Nations "[...] governments, international organizations and civil society groups [are encouraged] to hold events, activities and initiatives that contribute to the efforts of the international community towards promoting a dialogue among civilizations, solidarity, mutual understanding and reconciliation" (United Nations, n.d., https://www.un.org/en/observances/friendship-day).

In the spirit of the Friendship Day's meaning, the use of these donations was carefully thought out!
Travel such as for overseas busking and concert tours, home renovations, inspection & repair of unstable Internet connections, educational expenses, musical equipment and medical bill coverage were considered for the broadcasters and proposed to them. The decision about the donations' precise use will be announced on the 2nd International Friendship Day event, 7 August 2022!
